BARR - Best All [around] Road Rider

2007 elite BARR champions (Brian Nelson men 1-2 and Tricia Bailey women 1-2) receive free entry in races in their respective elite categories in Washington during 2008. Race promoters should contact us if you have questions.

Individual BARR points are awarded thus:

1st - 100
2nd - 70
3rd - 50
4th - 40
5th - 36
6th - 32
7th - 28
8th - 24
9th - 20
10th - 16

NOTE - Team Time Trial points are doubled and each of the 4 members gets 1/4 of the points added to their total; e.g. if your team got 3rd, the total would be 100 (for your team) and each rider would get 25 for their individual classification.
ALSO - The Omnium Stage Race is worth 1.5 times the BARR points that other events earn. First place receives 150 points, second place receives 105 points, and so on through tenth place.

Points are awarded in the following racing categories:

Men Cat 1-2
Men Cat 3
Men Cat 4-5
Masters Men A (35+ Cat 1-2)
Masters Men B (35+ Cat 3 or *45+ Cat 2)
Masters Men C (35+ Cat 4-5 or *45+ Cat 3)
Masters Men D (50+)
Masters Women A (35+ Cat 1-2-3 or **50+)
Masters Women B (35+ Cat 4 or 50+ Cat 1-2-3)
Women Cat 1-2
Women Cat 3
Women Cat 4

*If you are age 45+ you can choose to race down a category if you feel this better suits your ability level.
**If you are age 50+ you can choose to race down a category if you feel this better suits your ability level.

Points are awarded ten deep at all BARR (State Championship) events. You have to be a WSBA member to get BARR points.

2. Omnium Stage Race - May 17-18 [Wenatchee]
3. Masters & Juniors Road Race - June 8
4. Circuit Race - June 22 [Boston Harbor]
5. Senior Criterium - June 28 [Olympia]
6. Masters Criterium - June 29 [Des Moines]
7. Junior Criterium - July 4 [Burien]
8. Team Time Trial - July 20 [Elma]
9. Individual Time Trial - August 3 [Tenino]
10. Hillclimb Time Trial - August 16 [Crystal Mt.]

A team's BARR points will be the sum of the points of its top five riders in the individual BARR standings. Team BARR points are awarded only for the Men Cat 1-2 and Women Cat 1-2 categories.
